This course introduces students to key theoretical and methodological concepts in literary studies. Working from selected examples, we are going to explore essential tools for literary analysis. By the end of this course, students will (1) have acquired the methodological tools to approach literary texts in a systematic and reflected way. They will (2) be familiar with different genres, contexts, and interpretative angles, and will (3) be able to communicate their insights with precision, using the analytic vocabulary established in the discipline.
The course will alternate lecture sequences with time for in-class practice, both individually and in teams. A full syllabus will be made available at the beginning of the term. |
