The course is aimed at M.Sc. Uwi, EcoTox, M.Ed. Chemie.
The course takes place with a minimum of 6 participants.
Description:
The objective of the module CHE3 is to provide an overview of human-environment interactions, from the point of view of the occurrence of organic contaminants in the environment, their distribution and fate and the risks of human exposure. Additionally, critical points in the development and implementation of suitable monitoring strategies for both environmental (e.g. soils) and human (e.g. blood/plasma or urine) matrices will be evaluated. Mycotoxins and organic fungicides and their chemical transformations in the environment and in vivo (human metabolism) are in the focus of this module. The course is complemented with practical work in which students will evaluate recent literature and apply the knowledge learned either through a bibliographic work or a laboratory contribution.
